Kenmore 4-wheel drive dryer de-mystified!

Today I worked on a 4 wheel drive Kenmore dryer that I promise you would scare the hell out of anybody.

I took some pix:

Warning the next pix are not for the faint of heart:

These peeps had never had anything done to this one since new.

I yanked out the element and made sure no lint got on it when doing the cleaning. A loose lint ball will catch fire and trip them limits. Trust me.

Don't ferget yer door springs. Theirs will close better now because one of them springs was layin on the floor.

These dang new fangled 4 prong cords Sheesh. Not to worry I made me an adapter!

Dryer pig tail and a 4 prong receptacle babes

That ain't scary!

ODS Vent-Free Heater tune-up

It is getting colder outside. An ODS space heater is a nice way to keep warm on the nastiest winter nights. It does not require power either so when the lights go out the ODS space heater keeps on truckin. This vent -free system is used on most fireplaces and space heaters today. A heater/fireplace using the vent-free system sits idle in summer months and dust gets a chance to accumulate in the pilot safety. After lighting the pilot and starting the heater all will be fine for a few minutes then the pilot goes out and heat fades away. The thermocouple for these is a superior grade one that is much costlier to buy than an ordinary t-couple. Lots of folks buy a new thermocouple only to realize that didn't fix the prob. Well I have the solution. I took some photos:

How to build a washer

Larry brought me a bunch of parts to a washer, a few transmissions and a motor, a control panel thingy and stuff. I put together a washer for him. Took some photos today.

Had to free up the tub I remove the inner tub and checked for objects found none so I removed the tranny and found that the brakes were locked to the inner lining. I freed that up. Probably from sitting in the barn too long.
